The first-year Shradh ceremony for the departed soul is known as Barsi. This ceremony is held on the same tithi on which the soul died. Performing this ceremony with complete faith and a calm mind provides the Karta with the full benefit of the ceremony, and the blessings of his ancestor will always be with them.
The following are the main steps in performing Barsi Puja:
Sthapana Pujan of Vishwadev
Pinda Pradan: This is an offering to the ancestors of pinda (rice balls) mixed with ghee, honey, sugar, milk, and curd. Pind Pradan should be carried out with the utmost devotion and faith.
Tarpan: Til(Black) offering with water.
Brahman Bhojan: Performing bhojan for Brahman is an essential part of the Barsi puja.

According to Hinduism, Antyesti Sanskar (Last Rites) is the last sanskar of a human being. There is no sanskar or ritual left for any human being after this. In all religions, a dead body must be disposed of. Arya Samaj accomplishes this by burning the deceased body on a wood fire and offering a generous amount of Ghee and Havan Samgri. For this Antyesti Sanskar, the process is carried out in the manner of a Yagya, with the chanting of selected Vedic Mantras.
